The Hotel Austria illustrates how a hotel can combine exclusivity with down-to-earth charm – all within a setting of perfect, harmonious tranquillity, without any single element dominating the scene. As part of a refurbishment project, home INTERIOR was invited to help redecorate one of the apartments and the spa area.

The distinctive character of the makeover is clearly the result of how materials and textures were used.
Opaque curtains create intimate, peaceful nooks in the spa area. They filter the light and surround the sun beds.
Texture is also a central feature on the walls: in the spa, wallpaper depicting stylised leaves adds an organic touch. In the apartment, however, geometric wallpapers with a distinct, texture resembling textiles creates a sense of luxurious comfort.
Plenty of wood, a minimal palette of natural tones and understated lighting fixtures in clean lines all come together to form a clear overall picture.
