DAS LIEBENER****S
OBERGURGL (A)

Outdoors: mountains; indoors: design. Obergurgl promises something grand: mountains, sky, wide open spaces. How does the interior design respond to this powerful backdrop? The challenge: finding a solution offering the perfect setting for experiencing nature. A place that gently supports and complements this backdrop, while still leaving room for visitors to enjoy it.

This approach is reflected in the areas redesigned by Geisler & Trimmel Architects and implemented by us, among others. Not in a flashy way, but with cleverly chosen elements.

Textiles as a superpower. Home textiles play a key role here. Upholstered wall panels, heavy curtains and softly structured fabrics create a second layer in the room. They absorb noise, structure areas and thus give the interior a tangible sense of calm.

Walls to admire. Special attention has been paid to the wallpaper: large-scale, graphic motifs in subtle colours set the mood. Abstract shapes with soft contours engage with wooden surfaces and textiles. They add narrative depth to the rooms while leaving space for imagination.

Materials with substance. Wooden surfaces are the second distinctive element. Yet they are not overwhelming. They have been sanded smooth and come in clear shapes. Wood radiates calm, is high-quality, durable and substantial. It is a warm counterpart in the room without overpowering the fabrics. Here, tradition is not merely a reference point, rather it is reimagined.

Rooms at eye level. This creates areas with an inherent sense of contemporary comfort. An interior that fits into the mountains of the Ötztal valley without making a big deal about it.
